Healthcare system in Chile
What do you think of the health service in our country?
In Chile, the health service it's composed of a mixed system, the public service called FONASA, and a private one called ISAPRE.
Chilean health has the technology, the resources and the professionals to be good, however, the problem is not there, but in the great gap that exists between public and private health.
The private system is pretty good, fast, and most users are satisfied, meanwhile, the public system it’s too slow and unworthy, to the point that many people die waiting for operations, in addition to this, resources are misused.
Unfortunately in Chile to access good health you must have monetary resources, otherwise, people die waiting to receive treatment; that's why I think health in Chile is bad.
In conclusion, the big problem of Chilean health is not found in the lack of resources or lack of medical material to heal people, but it’s located principally in a social problem, the social inequality that we have to face in Chile. Health is a right, not a privilege.
I hope that one day all Chileans will be able to access good health regardless of their economic situation.
Hi, I agree with You that private healthcare is relatively good, unfortunately it is true that if you have money it is much easier to be treated anywhere, which is unfair to these who do not have as many resources.
ResponderEliminarHi Sofi, I also think that social inequality is one of the most determinant factors at times when looking for high quality health. I liked your blog pretty much!
ResponderEliminarhi sofia, health in chile as you say is a privilege, and a historical problem of our country, it is terrible and we must fight to change it.
ResponderEliminarI agree with you, I did not know but, another blog mentioned that the Chilean health system is the best in Latin America.
ResponderEliminarWe have the resources, but only for those who can pay it :c
